Summer i s winding-down, but the beer-event season is picking-up more steam! Los Angeles might be kind of a quiet over the holiday weekend, but there are still a few events happening around town to keep you beer’d up!

Just in time for the weekend, Filling Stations is a weekly post that highlights one of Los Angeles’ destinations for craft beer, be it a bottle-shop with a great selection, a restaurant with great food to go with their beer list, or a bar serving excellent beers.
Located in the Biscuit Company building on Industrial street adjacent to the Arts District in Downtown Los Angeles, Little Bear is a Belgian-focused beer bar with some killer food from the people behind Verdugo Bar and West Hollywood’s Surly Goat. One of the first posts on the site was about a New Zealand beer tasting held back in February, and our favorite “Itinerant scholar” Kiwi just returned to California bearing even more delicious Kiwi brews. We got to sample the special edition “Wellington in a Pint” winning beers as well as other fantastic brews from Wigram Brewery, Yeastie Boys, and Emerson’s Brewery, and we even discovered a new favorite!
It’s no secret that LA’s Golden Road Brewing is expanding at a furious pace. From 300 barrel fermenters being stored in the parking lot to big new additions to the Golden Road team, the brewery has outpaced everyone’s expansion expectations, and it isn’t even one year old! There has recently been a lot of talk about the longevity of craft beer’s explosive expansion. Each of the past few years has seen a near exponential growth in new breweries opening or being actively developed, and many in the industry are worried that the marketplace cannot continue to support this kind of growth.
