Between an impromptu tasting evening at Beer of Tomorrow HQ and the Food GPA/Firestone Walker Father’s Day CollaBREWtive Brunch we had some exceptional beers this weekend from some of my favorite breweries, and you don’t want to miss the new IPAs that are now available.
The dates have officially been announced, so mark those Calendars for September 19th – 29th 2013!
The the old website has been replaced with a splash-page promising a new site soon. The details are scarce, but you can assume that the traditional closing festival will be at Union Station on Sunday the 29th. On the first of June, 4,000 beer fans descended on the the California Mid-State Fairground – in heat that pushed into the triple digits – for the second edition of the epic Firestone Walker Invitational Beer Fest. Los Angeles beer blog Beer Search Party is teaming up with Beer Belly for an event highlighting lagers and lighter brews perfect for summer. If our pilsner post had you thirsting for some crisp lagers, or just just want an excuse to hang out on the patio and session a few pints, you could do a lot worse than “Summer Camp” at Beer Belly!

The craft beer community raised a cry of anguish in December when The Bruery announced that it would shutter their beloved bottle-shop and market in Old Towne Orange. Thankfully the closure of the space was short-lived and the Haven Collective stepped in to add the market to their portfolio of beer businesses, and the new Provisions Market will officially open on June 5th!
