Writer/Designer/Photographer Michael Kiser visits Goose Island’s new barrel-aging facility in Chicago’s west side and shares some really wonderful images on his craft beer site Good Beer Hunting.
Goose Island was purchased by Anheuser-Busch in 2011, and the craft beer community was not happy about “loosing” one of its favorite breweries to an International Big-Beer company. But it looks like in the year since the acquisition Goose Island has not lost its soul, and they have used the influx of capital to create an enormous space for barrel-aging their beers.
Regardless of the future “craft integrity” of the brewing operations at Goose Island, the current dedication to the long-game of aged beers is impressive. Take a look at all the great shots:
