Celebrate IPA Day on August 2nd

The 2nd annual IPA Day, dedicated to celebrating craft beer culture through enjoying the most popular style in American craft beer, is next week! More than just a celebration of hoppy pale ales, IPA Day was launched in 2011 as a tool for evangelizing all of craft beer, and taking part in the celebration is as easy as raising your glass.
The craft beer community has been at the forefront of the social media revolution, and IPA Day looks to leverage social media to spread the word about craft beer and help more people become fans of what beer is supposed to be all about.
Brush up on the history and qualities of the India Pale Ales before next week, and pick a couple of your favorite hop-bombs to toast with.
IPADay.org has the following ideas for how you can participate in IPA Day:
1. Organize an IPA Day event at your brewery, brewpub, restaurant, bar, bottle shop, home, or office. Share your events Post your events to the CraftBeer.com Event Calendar.
2. On August 2nd, share your photos, videos, blog posts, tasting notes, recipes, and thoughts with the world. Be sure to tag your posts on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, Google+, and other social media platforms with #IPADay hashtag.
3. See what other people are saying on Twitter by searching “#IPADay” at: search.twitter.com. Follow the conversation closely by adding an #IPADay search column on your Tweetdeck.
4. Become a craft beer steward in your community. Encourage non-craft beer drinkers to take a break from their normal beverage routine and join the collective toast on August 2nd. Set the goal of converting at least one person, if not the whole world of drinkers, into an IPA lover!
Check out the site for more information on what makes an IPA special and how you can join the cause. There is also a collection of recipes for using IPAs to create delicious sounding treats. We especially like the sound of the spicy IPA pickles and Stone’s infamous Ruination cheese soup!
We will keep you updated as we hear about events around Los Angeles on August 2nd. Do you have any plans for IPA Day?
