ON Saturday, March 8th Firestone Walker held a bottle release party for the first packaged wild ale produced in the Buellton Barrelworks facility. Feral One is a cuvee of the best barrels from the first couple years of the project, and it’s tart, funky, and complex. The beer’s release garnered a lot of attention among Southern California beer fans, and the turnout on Saturday was greater than anyone at Firestone expected. Was there a near riot? Upset and disgruntled beer fans? Read on to find out and peep out gallery of the event!
Long story short, there were no riots, and the only disappointment was Parabola 2014 selling-out before everyone could get a bottle (but that beer will hit distribution soon and shouldn’t be TOO tough to find.) There were nearly a dozen amazing rare beers available to sample, including the beer-of-honor Feral One, Parabola 2014, the new year-round Opal dry-hopped saison, and a preview of the new summer seasonal (replacing Solace) Easy Jack – a 4.5%ABV session IPA.
We’ll have some more details about the event and the beers soon, but until then enjoy this gallery of photos:
