This Sunday the Pub at Golden Road is hosting the first Aunt Sally tournament that we’ve ever heard about, and the grand prize winner will get a year of growler fills!
Aunt Sally is, from what they tell me, a traditional English pub game played by tossing a rolling pin-like stick at a wooden target perched atop a metal pole. Knock the “dolly” from its perch and points are scored. Traditionally it looked a little something like this:
Looks simple enough!
The Golden Road tournament will benefit the California Craft Brewers Association, and the entry fee is $40/team (with 2 – 4 people on each team), and each entry fee includes a pitcher of the new Aunt Sally Pale Ale from Golden Road. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to sign-up for the tournament.
The fun begins at 3pm on this Sunday, March 3rd, and it looks like the weather will be splendid.
We are taking applications for the Beer of Tomorrow all-ringer team, so if you want to pitch-wood under our banner, let us know!
