Reddit may be a wretched hive of scum and villainy, but it is also oddly compelling. If you’re a redditor in Los Angeles interested in craft beer, come check out the new r/LABeer subreddit to stay up-to-date on all the goings-on.
If you’re scratching your head and asking “what is this reddit thing that all the kids are talking about?”, take it from us and don’t worry about it. It isn’t worth the heart ache.
If you really must know here’s the skinny from the site’s FAQ:
reddit is a source for what’s new and popular on the web.
Users like you provide all of the content and decide, through voting, what’s good and what’s junk.
Links that receive community approval bubble up towards #1, so the front page is constantly in motion and (hopefully) filled with fresh, interesting links.
There’s a pretty active craft beer community established on the site, but r/beer can be less-than-friendly at times and it can get pretty repetitive with the same topics cycling through every couple of weeks.
r/LABeer was created to give people interested in the Los Angeles scene a place with much more signal, much less noise.
Come on over and check it out!
Full disclosure: I’m a moderator on the r/LABeer. The power has not-yet gone to my head.
