It’s been a while since we tried the Open Thread idea, so stop in and share what craft beer-related thoughts are on your mind.
Here are a few topics to get the discussion moving along.
On the Subject of Glassware
We posted this image to Facebook yesterday, and got some good comments on it:
What do you think about all the strange glassware being marketed to craft beer fans? It is pretty clear that the marketing and product development people at these retailers really have no idea what they are doing when it comes to beer.
Do you have a favorite glass to use when sitting down to a pint? Do you have a large collection of glasses?
The Christmas holiday is fast approaching, and special holiday beers are filling local shelves and taps. LAist has a rundown of their favorite locally-brewed versions, and Wired.com’s Geek Dad also tackles the subject of Christmas brews and other holiday libations.
As any regular reader of Beer of Tomorrow knows, my favorite holiday beer bucks the dark-and-spiced trend: Sierra Nevada’s Celebration Ale!
What is your favorite?
The Beer-Drinker’s Library
We’re putting together the first installment of the Beer of Tomorrow Gift Guide, and we’d love to hear your suggestions for beer-books. Do you have any favorites that you recommend? Also, do you still prefer dead-tree books, or have you switched over to ebooks? (I personally like ebooks for fiction but usual opt for a physical book if it is going to be something I reference a lot.)
Let’s Hear from you!
You dont’ have to stick to these topics, after all this is the Open Thread! Speak your mind in the comments. Tell us how we’re doing. Rant about macro-brewed swill!
The comments will be running all weekend long, so if you have a question, a suggestion for what you’d like to see on the site, or just want to share what delicious beers you’re enjoying, let’s hear about it!
