By now I hope that you’ve heard of, and bought your tickets for, The Festival in San Pedro this weekend (November 8th and 9th). The Shelton Brother’s are pulling out all of the stops to throw one of the most exciting beer festival’s that Los Angeles has ever seen, but the incredible beers and world-renowned brewers are not confined to the two days of the event. There are ancillary events celebrating the influx of international craft beer and brewers to Los Angeles happening around town, so even if you’re not attending this weekend (and really, you SHOULD be going) you can still grab some special brews.
In case you aren’t up to speed on the details of The Festival, the Shelton Bros have organized over 70 breweries from a dozen countries all under one roof in the Port of Los Angeles. We’re talking the heaviest hitters like Cantillon, Drie Fonteinen, and De Ranke from Belgium. American craft brewers like Hill Farmstead, Arizona Wilderness, and Tree House Brewing. The list is out of this world, and the most important part is the people behind these incredible breweries will be at the festival pouring their brews and chatting with fans. You can even grab discounted tickets from Goldstar!
Beachwood BBQ and Brewing in Long Beach is the unofficial home base for the pre-The Festival activities, and the brewpub is host three nights of crazy tap lists and brewers beginning tonight with “Dutch Night” and concluding on Friday with a wild all-day party featuring a tap list that needs to be seen to be believed

(Friday evening will there will also be a long list of Shelton Brothers imports on tap at Congregation Ale House just steps down the promenade from Beachwood.)
In addition to the Beachwood events, Shelton Brothers founder Dan Shelton is hosting some of his favorite brewers from the UK at Lucky Baldwins in Pasadena on Thursday 11/6. Dan is really excited about the exploding craft scene in England, and the way craft brewers there are creating a new generation of English styles utilizing techniques and ingredients popularized by American craft pioneers.
Baird Brewing will be taking over the taps at Sunset Beer Co on Friday Evening as well.
This is a big deal for the LA craft beer scene, and you are going to kick yourself next week if you miss it.
