Stone Celebrates 16th Birthday with a New Double IPA

Stone Brewing Co has just announced that the beer they brewed to commemorate their 16th anniversary will be available starting on August 13th, and it sounds like a doozy!
Each August Stone puts out a special release beer for their anniversary, and there have been some amazing brews over the years. Last year’s edition was an Imperial Black IPA, three years ago was an amazing Double Red Ale, and 2007′s 11th Anniversary Ale was later added to regular production as Sublimely Self Righteous Ale.
This year the brewery tackles the ulta-popular Double IPA style and adds some unique twists. Lemon verbena and lemon oil is added to the beer that also contains enough rye malt to add complexity without dominating the malt flavors. There are also lots of hops in this beer too! Check out Beer Pulse’s post for all the details, and make room in your fridge for this new DIPA from Stone.
