Stone’s 16th Anniversary Ale Is Now Available

Starting today the double IPA brewed for this year’s anniversary release is available to purchase in the Stone stores, and the lemon-infused hop-bomb is rolling out to your local beer bar and liquor store this week. But that’s not all they have coming out to celebrate their anniversary!
The 16th anniversary beer is described by Stone as “a pale amber IPA with lemon verbena, lemon oil, and a variety of unique hops that give the beer a bitter and citrusy finish,” and by all of the early reviews it sounds like a very Stone-y beer that succeeds in mixing the expected level of extreme bitterness with a refreshing lemon character.
We are really looking forward to getting out hands on a few bottles; the anniversary releases from Stone are always amazing and seem to disappear from store shelves before we are ready to say good-bye. This year though Stone has an extra treat for its fans: a new beer called Enjoy By IPA.

Further details on the beer are scarce, but the first kegs will be tapped at this weekend’s Stone Anniversary Party with the bottle release to follow.
Update (8/14/12): Stone has released a little more info about the Enjoy By beer on their Facebook page: Southern California will be the first region to get the beer which is being packaged on Friday for the freshest-possible experience at the Anniversary Party with retail distribution beginning in about a week.
Keep your eyes out for these two special double IPAs, and let us know what you think if you had a chance to try the 16th at the Blue Palms 4th Anniversary party!

Had the 16th today and it is very much like the description above, definitely one of my favorite Stone beers. I got some bottles for home. I’m looking forward to the Enjoy by IPA on Sat.
