August has IPA Day, and now November has International Stout Day. Organized as a celebration of the whole of the craft beer movement, Stout Day obviously focuses on the darker-side of craft beer, and all you need to do to celebrate is drink a delicious craft stout on Thursday November 8th!
In its second year, Stout Day was organized by Erin, AKA The Beer Goddess, as a way to increase awareness and appreciation for craft beer’s rich-and-roasty style.
Check out the official International Stout Day site for more details (and some amazing-sounding recipes), and be sure to raise your stout-filled glass on Thursday to this versatile style. From the roasty and coffee-forward breakfast stouts, to more refreshing sweet stouts, to the biggest and richest barrel-aged imperial version there is a stout for any mood!
We’ll be at The Surly Goat Tavern in West Hollywood to celebrate on Thursday, and their special taps for the event look mighty fine. There are lots of other spots around town also having stout-specials to celebrate, and if your local favorite isn’t celebrating Stout Day be sure to ask them why not!
If you’re celebrating stouts on Thursday you can use the hashtag #StoutDay to spread the word, and you can even score a special Untappd badge to commemorate the occasion!
What’s your favorite stout? What are your plans for Stout Day? Let’s hear about it in the comments!
