Two seasonal releases are coming this month from Redlands’ Hangar 24 Brewery, with a third special release coming later in the Summer.
The Belgian Summer Ale is a tart and refreshing blonde that was based on the brewery’s 3rd Anniversary brew. We haven’t had a chance to try this, but it is something we’re looking forward to sampling. Perhaps at the Hangar 24 4th Anniversary Celebration in June.
The Hangar 24 Local Fields series highlights ingredients grown near the brewery, and Essence is packs a load of citrus from near by groves. The double IPA uses navel oranges, blood oranges, and grapefruit to compliment the citrusy and resinous west cost hops, and it is getting distributed in 22oz bombers starting the first week in June.
A little later in the Summer Polycot, a more potent take on their year-round Orange Wheat will be brewed using “hundreds of pounds of organic apricots grown in Southern California’s High Desert”, and it should be available in August.
All three of these beers sound like great accompaniments to the coming summer months, and we’ll have our eyes on our local shops and tap-lists for their appearance.
