The Stone Vertical Epic saga is coming to an end. The minds behind the 11-year-long beer series have assembled an all-start lineup of beer experts to taste all the beers, and you’ll be able to watch the whole thing go down from the comfort of your computer!
The unprecedented internet broadcast will take place beginning at noon tomorrow, November 15th on Livestream:
Stone 12.12.12 Vertical Epic Ale marks the end of an era. Since 2002, Stone has released a unique, Belgian-influenced, bottle-conditioned ale, with each subsequent beer available one year, one month and one day from its predecessor, and designed to be aged and enjoyed together on 12.12.12. Beer collectors everywhere are planning tastings and wondering how these long ago procured beers taste.
The panel that will taste all 11 beers is made up of Greg Koch, Stone brewmaster Mitch Steele, former brewmaster Lee Chase, “Dr.” Bill Sysak, beer journalist Jay Brooks, Joe Tucker of RateBeer, New Brew Thursday’s Stephen Johnson, and BeerAdvocate founders Jason and Todd Alström.
The event sounds both ambitious and exciting, and you’ll be able to pose questions to the panel as they taste either via the Livestream interface or through social media with the hashtaag #VerticalEpic.
We’re looking forward to the live event tomorrow, and we’ll provide both a link to the archived video and some commentary on the event for those who can’t devote their afternoon to watching it live.
